christian stevenson: radio
Christian was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington D.C and has had a varied broadcasting career. Many in the UK recognise him as the presenter of the 2005 BAFTA winning and long running Five show ‘RAD’. In fact 2003 saw Christian himself being nominated for a BAFTA in the category of Children’s Presenter.
2003 also saw Christian presenting on the newly launched channel CNX. Alongside his long-time collaborator Ed Leigh, Christian presented the channel’s flagship show ‘Trailer Park’.Described as ‘T4 for lads’ it was heady mix of comedy characters and alternative culture.
Previous to this Christian presented TV's "Snowball" show for three years running, and for one series co-presented with Kylie Minogue.
Christian started out on his broadcasting career as a radio DJ. Straight out of university, he worked for 104.7 K-Ski, where he did a 10-hour show covering the Gulf War. Until recently, Christian presented Evenings on Kerrang! Radio.
His next job was making skiing holiday videos for tourists where he decided to go one step further and make a snowboard film. Setting up a film production company in Vail, Colorado called ‘Room and Board Productions’ he set about filming and producing four groundbreaking snowboarding films, ‘Blindside’, ‘Odd Man Out’, ‘Day Tripper’ and ‘Still Trippin’.
Christian then went on to direct numerous music videos for Jamiroquai, Reef, and A. He taught J.K. how to snowboard in one day and filmed him singing while riding down the Tyrolean Alps in Austria.
Christian’s filmmaking has taken him all around the world. He climbed 4 volcanoes in Ecuador, the highest was at 20,000 feet to film and present a half hour documentary for Five.
Christian’s voice has also been heard on programs such as ‘High Five’ the Channel 4 Freesports show, ‘World of Windsurfing Chilli Factor’ and commentating on the Gillette World of Sports and he can be found at most snow/skate/bmx/music festivals.
