*Cover Presenter, BBC Radio Cambridge
Currently Nigel is the main presenter for Arsenal TV where he gets to interview players, fans and legends; he also reads the weekly team news reports. Being such an Arsenal fan he is privileged to be able to join the team on training sessions and matches. Nigel is one of the presenters of Film Xtra for the popular film channel Film 24, he is a regular at film premieres and junkets putting questions to the A list stars. He has also recently presented for Wedding TV.
Also a talent on radio, Nigel is currently a presenter on BBC Radio Cambridge, a cover presenter on BBC Cambridgeshire. Prior to that he presented for Fox FM and has presented a series of radio shows, across The GCap One Network. Nigel was part of the “Sony Gold Award winning” team at Capital Disney where he presented and produced his own weekly radio show, ‘Nigel Mitchell’s Friday Afternoon Thing.’ The podcast of Nigel’s show made the top 50 in the iTunes comedy chart.
Nigel started off his career being the youngest ever presenter when he started hosting the Nickelodeon weekend afternoon show, live from the London Trocadero. He went on to present ‘Sticky,’ a live magazine show for CITV and then to the Disney Channel to front their new afternoon show, ‘Studio Disney,’ which he hosted for 8 years.
In his time at Disney Channel Nigel fronted six ‘Bafta Award Winning Kids Awards’ shows from both The London Arena and The Royal Albert Hall. He has also written, produced and presented ‘Who Knows?’ a factual series for the channel, and notched up countless hours of ‘live’ television and voiceover experience. He compiled reports for the channel from Hollywood, hosted ‘Mad For It’ and ‘Twister’ for CITV, written and presented ‘News To Me’ a current affairs programme for the BBC World Service, written a regular column in the Sky TV Magazine and has occasionally hosted ‘Diggin’ It’ for GMTV.
When Nigel is not making jingles in his home studio or talking into a microphone, he loves watching Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium, playing FIFA on his Xbox and is slowly making his way through his extensive DVD collection. Nigel also loves to travel.
At only 30 years of age, and with 15 years of diverse broadcasting experience behind him, Nigel is looking forward to many more years of doing the only job that he’s ever done.
